Dr. Karla Snider Pivik
Dr. Karla Snider Pivik is the clinic’s primary dermatologist. Her network of colleagues will confirm that she brings a patient-centered approach to treating dermatologic medical conditions.
She follows the osteopathic philosophy that all body systems are interrelated and dependent upon one another for good health. Dr. Pivik understands the psychosocial impact of dermatologic conditions and seeks to not only treat the skin, but the whole person.
Karla Pivik, DO., earned her medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Following medical school, she completed her internship at Detroit Medical Center in Michigan. She then completed dermatology residency training with Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Oregon where she served as their chief resident.
Outside the office, Dr. Pivik spends her free time with her husband, two active little boys, and her golden retrievers. She and her family are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy exploring Bend’s beautiful landscapes while hiking, biking, camping, rafting, and fishing. Dr. Pivik plays disc golf and loves to throw pottery on a wheel. She sometimes attempts to play the guitar and is a self-proclaimed campfire cuisine enthusiast. Read More

A Wisconsin Badger native, Becca Mataya moved her family to Oregon to get out of the city and into the mountains. Becca is the Operations Manager for three of the High Lakes Clinics- High Lakes Primary Care Shevlin Park; High Lakes Primary Care Upper Mill; and Aspen Mountain Dermatology.
Prior to working at High Lakes, Becca managed inpatient nursing operations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hospital. Outside of the clinics, Becca can be found exploring new mountain biking terrain with her husband, teaching yoga, and building lego castles with her two young boys.
Amanda Johnson earned her Registered Nursing license from Central Oregon Community College here in Bend. She has a broad range of healthcare experience, working with patients from all life stages. Amanda has experience with pediatrics, primary care, internal medicine, and geriatrics, which directly translates to her ability to meet the needs of the patients seen at Aspen Mountain Dermatology.
Amanda feels a strong connection with the osteopathic training of Dr. Pivik. The focus on treating the patient as a whole has been an integral part of her practice as a nurse. Amanda’s interest in dermatology occurred when her father was diagnosed with melanoma, and she began focusing her interests on the preventative health of the largest organ in the body (the skin!). She enjoys integrating how to better care for your skin while participating in the various outdoor activities of Central Oregon.
Outside the office, Amanda embraces all the outdoor activities Bend has to offer. She is a marathon runner and loves to hike the surrounding mountains. In the summertime you will find her mountain biking at Phil’s trail or floating the Deschutes River, and in the winter she can be seen skiing at Mt. Bachelor. Her white husky dog, Tucker, accompanies her on all her adventures!
