karala-700Dr. Karla Snider Pivik is a dermatologist with a patient-centered approach to care. Believing that excellent patient care values the person as an individual, she strives to provide this personalized care for the entire family. She appreciates the psychosocial impact dermatologic conditions can have on a person and seeks to treat not only the skin but the whole person as well. In addition to her expertise in the diagnosis of and treatment of diseases of the skin, nails, and hair, she has an interest in the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of skin cancer.

 

Dr. Pivik hails from the wild and scenic town of Green River, Wyoming. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming (UW), where she graduated summa cum laude. While studying at UW, she developed an interest in international travel and participated in an exchange program at the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain.

 

Dr. Pivik earned her medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, where she graduated with honors. Following medical school, she completed her internship at Detroit Medical Center in Michigan. She then completed dermatology residency training with OPTI West/Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, where she served as the Chief Resident. Dr. Pivik has been published in a number of dermatologic journals and has presented topics in dermatology at national and state dermatology meetings.

 

Dr. Karla Snider Pivik, MD FamilyDr. Pivik is passionate about serving her community and demonstrates her community commitment by volunteering at the Volunteers in Medicine clinic in Bend. During the summer, she serves as a counselor at a camp for children with skin conditions.

 

Outside the office, Dr. Pivik spends her free time with her husband, two active little boys, and her golden retrievers. She and her family are outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy exploring Bend’s beautiful landscapes while hiking, biking, camping, rafting, and fishing. Dr. Pivik also plays disc golf and loves to throw pottery on a wheel. She sometimes attempts to play the guitar and is a self-proclaimed campfire cuisine enthusiast.
